In the following interview, more highlights from my docuseries “The Real Skinny on Fat”, I was very fortunate to talk to Dr. Christine Maren and to go down a path that hasn’t been touched on in ALL the videos we’ve created relating to the ketogenic lifestyle. Christine is a board-certified physician and the founder of an innovative functional medicine practice in Colorado, Michigan and Texas. She was introduced to functional medicine after struggling with pregnancy complications and recurrent miscarriages. A functional medicine approach helped her address her own underlying health issues associated with gut infections, food sensitivities, hypothyroidism, hormone imbalance and environmental toxins. She’s devoted her professional life to helping other modern-day moms optimize their health during pregnancy, thrive postpartum and get their life back. In this interview she speaks in particular about her experience with healthy fats, the ratios of fat, carbs and protein she was recommended and how those affected her.
This is some fascinating insight into an area that really hasn’t received a lot of attention as it relates to keto and I hope you learn from it and that it inspires you to want to continue learning.
